If you require a streaming version of a DVD/Blu-ray in the library's collection, the library may convert it to a streaming file for use in courses, but only if specific conditions are met. Once the film has been converted, we will provide you with a link to give to your students so that they can watch the film. The link will require them to login with their usual Cap U login, and will expire at the end of term. If you know that you will need the digitized film again in the next term, please let us know, or please send us a request again in any future term in which you need the film, even if it's the same video for the same course name and number.
If you think your request qualifies, contact the Media Technician with the following information:
Please note that two weeks’ notice may be required to provide this service when the DVD/Blu-ray/VHS is in hand. For conversion requests that require a DVD/Blu-ray to be purchased, timing will depend on how quickly we can order and receive the film.
Additionally, please note that due the limitation of our technology for digitizing Blu-rays, the product of digitization will be in SD (Standard Definition).
