Exploring Use & Critique of Tests

You can find out if other researchers have applied or critiqued the test you've selected by searching in PsycInfo.

  • Go to PsycInfo and click on Advanced Search
  • Enter the title of the test into the search bar (Too many irrelevant results? Try putting all or some of the title of the test in quotation marks) 
  • Try adding keywords to your search such as reliability and validity

  • Scroll down and check the box for Tests/Measures/Assessments

  • Click Search 

Test Evaluations in CINAHL

You may also be able to find articles that evaluate an instrument or set of instruments in the CINAHL database. CINAHL contains articles focused on physical and mental health. 

To find articles that evaluate a test you've found in CINAHL: 

  • type the title of the test (you can try using quotation marks around the title if you get too many irrelevant results
  • type "Instrument Validation" in the second box, and change the dropdown to MM Exact Major Subject Heading.
  • Click Search.
