Self-Assessment

Teaching students to accurately self-assess their learning is key to developing their own abilities as lifelong learners. Self-assessment as opposed to instructor-assessment removes the focus from power dynamics and grades to introspection and learning. In this section you will find resources to aid in the facilitation and research of helpful self-assessment.

This article covers student self-assessment research done from 2013-2018. It makes an argument that researchers should focus more on the cognitive effects on learning as opposed to whether or not students are accurately self-assessing.
