Musical Theatre

The speech accent archive uniformly presents a large set of speech samples from a variety of language backgrounds. Native and non-native speakers of English read the same paragraph and are carefully transcribed. The archive is used by people who wish to compare and analyze the accents of different English speakers.

Incorporated in 1983, GVPTA is an association of more than 100 theatre companies and individual members who, through their collective efforts, promote live theatre and foster a thriving environment for the continued growth and development of theatre through the Greater Vancouver Regional District.

The Union of British Columbia Performers (UBCP/ACTRA) is an autonomous branch of ACTRA (Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists), the national organization of professional performers working in the English-language recorded media in Canada.

Equity is the voice of professional artists engaging in live performance in English Canada. We are a national association representing almost 6,000 artists working in theatre, opera and dance from coast-to-coast-to-coast. Equity's membership includes performers, directors, choreographers, fight directors and stage managers.

The Directors Guild of Canada, B.C. District Council (DGC BC) represents the creative and logistical personnel in the film and television industry in British Columbia. The DGC BC Collective Agreement covers the categories of Director, 2nd Unit Director, Production & Unit Manager, plus those employed in the various Assistant Director and Locations Departments. The Website has been designed to provide current information on a variety of subjects of interest to both employers, Members of the Guild and those aspiring to become Members.
