The digitized music manuscript collection of the Morgan Museum & Library, More than 500 items, including works by by J. S. Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Chopin, Debussy, Fauré, Haydn, Liszt, Mahler, Massenet, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Puccini, Schubert, Schumann and others.
Public domain sheet music contributed by users from around the globe is available for download. Availability of works is governed by the copyright laws in the country from which the collection is accessed.
"47,000 pieces of sheet music registered for copyright during the years 1870 to 1885. Included are popular songs, piano music, sacred and secular choral music, solo instrumental music, method books and instructional materials, and music for band and orchestra."
In partnership with Lions Gate Sinfonia, the Library has assumed the stewardship of an orchestral sheet music collection stored for years in the Toronto music library of the CBC.
The collection is made up of approximately 1,500 works, including standard orchestral repertoire as well as selections hailing from the “Golden Age” of radio.
