Databases to Use for Your Assignments

The following is a list of recommended databases, and how to access them, that will server as best bets for you to be able to efficiently research for your assignments

Please note, that these are recommendations! Please feel free to search beyond this list!

Globe and Mail - How to Access

You may click on the Globe and Mail database (see above) OR you may follow these steps to access current articles:


First, search for "Globe and Mail" in Search Discovery - you can do this from the Library's Homepage, or by going into Advanced Search and selecting SO Journal Title/Source from the dropdown menu (as pictured). Click Search or press Enter.


Second, the "Globe and Mail (Ottawa/Quebec Edition) Full Text Access link will appear (as pictured). Click on that.


Third, you will be brought to the Globe and Mail record page (as pictured). You may choose from here where you can access Globe and Mail resources, but for current/present content, click the Canadian Major Dailies link.


Fourth, you will be brought to ProQuest, which is the host platform from where you can search and access Globe and Mail content. Note! the CAPILANO UNIVERSITY banner is important! That's your institutional access! 


Lastly, click the Advanced Search option for more in-depth options and filters to better search for your research!


 

Canadian HR Reporter - How to Access

Follow these steps to access content from the Canadian HR Reporter:


First, search for "Canadian HR Reporter" in Search Discovery - you can do this from the Library's Homepage, or by going into Advanced Search and selecting SO Journal Title/Source from the dropdown menu (as pictured). Click Search or press Enter.


Second, the "Canadian HR Reporter: Full Text Access link will appear (as pictured). Click on that.


Third, you will be brought to the Canadian HR Reporter record page (as pictured). Click on the Full Test Access or CBCA link for current/present content.


Fourth, you will be brought to ProQuest, which is the host platform from where you can search and access Canadian HR Reporter content. Note! the CAPILANO UNIVERSITY banner is important! That's your institutional access! 


Lastly, click the Advanced Search option for more in-depth options and filters to better search for your research!
